During Action for Brain Injury Week, Coles Miller Solicitors’ five Dorset offices teamed up to raise a fantastic £683 for the Child Brain Injury Trust with an online auction. Many local businesses sponsored the event and donated auction lots and cash. The hard working staff at Coles Miller Solicitors rallied to the cause by contacting everyone they know to help spread the word with great success.

Whilst Coles Miller Solicitors have specialist brain injury solicitors who see many lives changed forever by childhood acquired brain injury they also have a solicitor who knows exactly what it’s like to be the parent of a child threatened with a brain injury.

Wills and probate solicitor Jenny Oxley’s son Josh was born with Craniosynostosis, a rare skull condition. Craniosynostosis can cause pressure on the brain, leading to symptoms including persistent headaches, learning difficulties and eye problems.

Josh was just 13 months old when he underwent a five-hour operation on his skull at Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital. The procedure was a complete success and now aged eight, Josh suffers no ill effects from Craniosynostosis. He still undergoes precautionary annual X-rays and other medical checks.

Jenny takes great comfort from the support that the Child Brain Injury Trust offers parents in similar circumstances. She said: “I cannot praise enough the support that charities such as the Child Brain Injury Trust provide. It is truly a worthwhile cause to support,” she added.

We would like to thank Coles Miller Solicitors for their support of the Child Brain Injury Trust.
