One hundred and fifty guests descended on the Castlefield Rooms in Manchester on February 13th to participate in Nestor and Kings Chambers’ annual fundraising quiz supporting the Child Brain Injury Trust, which raised a spectacular £5,234.06!

Now in its fourth year, the quiz jointly hosted by financial advisors Nestor and leading Barristers, Kings Chambers gave members of the North West’s Professional Services community a chance to enter teams to battle it out for the honour of being victorious. Whilst raising vital funds for the Child Brain Injury Trust.

We are greateful to the following companies who took part in the event;  Bush & Co, JMW Solicitors, Premex, Premier Medical, ARAG, Leigh Day, Birchall Blackburn and Serious Law.

After teams were welcomed and enjoyed a premium hog roast, quizmasters Ryan Lewis, Nestor, and Steve Loxton, Kings Chambers, offered up rounds based around general knowledge, sports, film and TV, music and geography to test the minds of quiz team members.

Ryan Lewis, Director, Nestor, said:

“It’s a pleasure to organise this event to support CBIT and I’m really pleased that so many law firms and affiliate companies have once again agreed to participate and enter teams in our fundraising quiz.  As well as selling out, we had a waiting list for teams, which shows the strength of support for this event and the warmth and high esteem in which CBIT is held.  Steve and I are delighted that we’ve been able to raise such a healthy amount.”

As well as participating in the hotly contested quiz, most companies attending, as well as some who were unable to join us, provided some fabulous raffle prizes to contribute to the fundraising total, including a Spabreaks voucher from Bush & Co, a Fortnum and Mason wine hamper from Fletchers, MUFC tickets from Thompsons and the intriguing “Neve Surprise” from Premex.

Steve Loxton, Chief Clerk, Kings Chambers, said:

“Both Ryan and I really enjoy organising this event each year and ensuring that we’re able to support CBIT as well as providing a fantastic night to the wider legal community.  We are so pleased that so many of our contacts choose to get behind the event and participate, and we’re keen to keep delivering a fantastic event for years to come.”

Premier Medical were the victors on the night, with an outstanding score, meanwhile insurance providers Markel took home the Wooden Spoon for last place.

Thank you to everyone for making this such a fantastic night!
