Action for Brain Injury Week 2022
Each year during the campaign week the Child Brain Injury Trust focuses on an important issue to highlight the plight that families affected by childhood acquired brain injury have to live with. We use the week to raise awareness of the issues and to celebrate the achievements of families who find themselves in this difficult and life changing situation.
We always align ourselves with Headway UK and focus on the same topic to ensure we are raising awareness on a wide scale.
The topic for Action for Brain Injury Week 2022 is
‘The Hidden Disability – See The Hidden Me’.
We will highlight the main challenges faced by children (& YP) with ABI and their parents/guardians. Each day we will talk about one of these challenges;
Education challenges
Public perception
Challenges with peers/friendship groups
Challenges with the wider family
Mental health challenges
We’ll be sharing some strategies to support each challenge. We will share resources, website links and family experiences to show ways in which people can overcome these challenges. Putting strategies in place to help.
