After the success of this year’s conference, we’re pleased to let you know about our first “Master Class” event of 2014, which will focus on rehabilitation.

The Master Class will be broken down into two lectures.
·         “Complexity and clinical intervention in community rehabilitation following childhood acquired brain injury” and
·         “Assistive Technologies for Enablement”

Morning Lecture

Dr Fergus Gracey, Lead Consultant Clinical Paediatric Neuropsychologist, Oliver Zangwill Centre

Complexity and clinical intervention in community rehabilitation following childhood brain injury”. This lecture will bring the subject to life with real life examples and a chance to discuss your own cases.

This lecture will focus on:
·         Solutions and ideas about the complex nature of rehabilitation will be presented and discussed using real life examples of children and adults following brain injury
·         A framework that helps make sense of community rehabilitation will be presented with case studies
·         What are the implications for outcome measurement and service delivery in rehabilitation?

*Delegates have the opportunity to discuss cases to reflect on different approaches to intervention, from case management through to targeted rehabilitation intervention.


Afternoon Lecture

Dr Katie Byard and Steve Wiseman

“Assistive Technologies for Enablement”

Technological developments and assistive technologies are playing an increasing role in the rehabilitation of children with an acquired brain injury.
This lecture will focus on:
  • Neuropsychology, rehabilitation and impact of technologies.
  • Assistive technologies in ABI rehabilitation.

Lunch: A light buffet lunch is provided
