In the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town in the middle of Festival season, a fabulous and funky fundraising concert took place recently to raise money for the Child Brain Injury Trust’s Scottish Child & Family Support Project.

TDiana's cakesicket holders enjoyed a wide range of uplifting soul and gospel hits from Edinburgh’s Phoenix Choir, ably led by Kat Bolden and accompanied by Adam Muir on keyboard.  Use of the venue – the MacKenzie Building on Old Assembly Close – was kindly arranged for free by the Faculty of Advocates, who also provided tea and coffee.  Offering the perfect accompaniment was Diana’s Delicious Bakery who were selling their fantastic cupcakes, making a contribution to the charity from each sale.

Fundraising in the form of a tombola offered the chance to take home some great prizes. The choir also asked people to ‘bid for a song’, the highest bid winning tickets to see their favourite number arranged by Kat and performed by the choir at their next concert!  Over £650 was raised overall and we are extremely grateful to everyone who gave up their time and supported this event.

Here you can see the choir in action, serving up Proud Mary!
