Medical Law Services partners with the Child Brain Injury Trust to support childhood brain injury

The Child Brain Injury Trust (CBIT) is proud to announce a new charity partnership with Medical Law Services (MLS), strengthening a shared commitment to supporting children, young people, and families affected by acquired brain injury across the UK.

Medical Law Services specialises in the collection, organisation, and clinical analysis of medical records on behalf of law firms working on clinical negligence and serious personal injury cases, alongside providing expert medical reporting. With a team of more than 180 colleagues, including qualified lawyers, midwives, and over 70 nurses, the organisation combines clinical expertise with deep experience in the personal injury and clinical negligence sectors.

That work puts MLS close to some of the most difficult moments families ever face. When a child sustains a serious brain injury, the road ahead involves not just medical care but legal processes, practical upheaval, and emotional strain that can stretch on for years. Medical Law Services regularly sees that reality, and it’s what drew the organisation to CBIT.

A shared commitment to supporting families after acquired brain injury

Georgia Briscoe, Managing Director at Medical Law Services, said:

“At Medical Law Services we work closely with professionals who support people and families following life-changing injuries, including brain injuries. Through that work we see first-hand the challenges individuals and families face in navigating the practical, legal and emotional support they need along the way.

The Child Brain Injury Trust plays an incredibly important role in providing that support. Partnering with CBIT felt like a natural fit for us. Both organisations are committed to helping people access the right help, guidance and expertise at the right time. We’re proud to support the charity’s work and the impact it has for children, young people and their families.

Charity partnerships are also an important part of our wider ethos. As a business operating within this sector, we believe it’s important to contribute positively to the communities connected to the work we do and to support organisations making a real difference.”

The partnership reflects shared values of integrity, compassion, and innovation, with both organisations dedicated to ensuring families affected by acquired brain injury receive the guidance and support they need when it matters most.

Driving innovation to improve outcomes

Medical Law Services is also investing in technological innovation to improve how medical information is reviewed and understood. By combining data science with clinical expertise, the organisation has developed AI-driven tools designed to make the analysis and organisation of medical records more efficient and effective, ultimately supporting stronger outcomes in complex injury cases.

Emma Pilling, the Child Brain Injury Trust’s Corporate Fundraising Manager said:

“Partnerships like this make a real difference to the families we support. When organisations working within the serious injury sector come together with a shared purpose, it helps ensure that children and young people affected by acquired brain injury are not facing their journey alone. We are incredibly grateful to Medical Law Services for choosing to support our work and for recognising the importance of specialist support for families navigating life after brain injury.”

Together, the Child Brain Injury Trust and Medical Law Services look forward to working collaboratively to raise awareness of childhood acquired brain injury and to help ensure that families across the UK can access the support, information, and understanding they need.
