Governance

The Child Brain Injury Trust is registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. More details about our registration is available from the Charity Commission and Companies House. We are also a registered charity in Scotland, more information is available from the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator.

The charity is governed by a Board of Trustees which is led by our Chairman, Robert Thomas. The Board sets the charity’s strategy and ensures that the Chief Executive and her team achieve their aims and objectives.

Trustee Meetings

The Trustees meet once a quarter to make important decisions about the charity and the services it provides. The meetings are a formal way of reviewing our work and to look at how we might develop new areas of work.

Complaints Procedure

In order to ensure our services remain at a high and improving standard, we have a procedure which enables you to let us know any reasons that you may not be satisfied with the service we have provided.

If you are:

  • Unhappy about any service, please speak to the relevant staff member, manager or Trustee.
  • Unhappy with an individual, sometimes it is best to tell him or her directly. If you feel this is difficult or inappropriate then speak to the staff member’s Line Manager.

Often we will be able to give you a response straight away. When the matter is more complicated we will give you at least an initial response within five working days. If you would like to get in touch, please do so through our Contact page.

If you are not satisfied with our response or wish to raise the matter more formally, please write to the Chief Executive. (If your complaint is about the Chief Executive, please write to the Chair of Trustees at our head office address.)
