Action for Brain Injury Week 2025

19th – 25th May

Each year, Action for Brain Injury Week gives us a powerful platform to speak up for families affected by childhood-acquired brain injury — to raise awareness, spark conversations, and shine a light on both the struggles and the strengths that emerge in the aftermath of trauma.

At the Child Brain Injury Trust, this campaign is a cornerstone of our year. It’s a chance to advocate, educate, and celebrate the resilience of the children and families we support. Every story we share helps build a better-informed, more compassionate world.

This year, as always, we are proud to align with Headway UK, uniting our voices around a shared theme to amplify our message nationwide.

The theme for 2025: “On a Good Day”

This year, we highlight the power of the small victories, the good moments, and the support systems that help families and children face the challenges of acquired brain injury.

For us, a good day might mean a child returning to school, making a new friend, sleeping through the night, or simply feeling safe. These are the moments that matter. But they don’t happen by chance — they happen with the right support.

ABI Week 2025

Why it matters

Every 15 minutes in the UK, a child or young person acquires a brain injury. That means hundreds of families are suddenly navigating a world of uncertainty — from hospital stays to educational challenges, emotional distress, and long-term rehabilitation.

ABI Week is our opportunity to raise visibility, reduce stigma, and champion the support that turns trauma into hope.

Together with Headway, we’re working to ensure that every voice is heard — whether it’s a young person’s, a parent’s, a teacher’s, or a professional’s.

💡Light Up for ABI Week! ✨

We reached out to landmarks across the UK to ask if they will light up on Friday, 23rd of May and help us raise awareness of Acquired Brain Injury.

We are delighted to announce that over 60 landmarks and buildings will be lighting up in support of Acquired Brain Injury Week 2025!

Zoom in on the map for a better look at the locations!
